How to Install the S2MFBG Flex.Base Free-standing Base
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the mechanical installation and initial setup of the Flex.Base free-standing base, including the adapter plate, earthing system, optional weights, closure plate, and castors or adjustable feet.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Torque wrench, Screwdriver set
Supplies needed:
Appropriate adapter plate (e.g., S2MSYSAPG or S2MCS4APG), M5 earthing screws, M8x20 screws, M12x12 screws, M5x40 self-tapping screws, M5x10 screws, Optional stability weights, Castors or adjustable feet, Earthing wire
- Install the Adapter Plate
Screw on the appropriate adapter plate (e.g., S2MSYSAPG or S2MCS4APG) to the Flex.Base. Tighten the M8x20 or M12x12 screws to a torque of 12 Nm, depending on the adapter plate type. Refer to Table 1 in the documentation for specific adapter plate details.
- Install the Earthing System
WARNING: Ensure the power supply is disconnected and suitable protective measures are taken before performing any electrical connections. Only qualified electricians should perform electrical connections. Tighten the M5 earthing screws to a torque of 2 Nm. Connect the customer earthing wire to the designated side connection point, tightening to 1.5 Nm.
- Install Optional Weights (if applicable)
If additional stability is required, install up to four optional weights. Screw in each weight using 2x M5x40 self-tapping screws. Tighten the self-tapping screws to a torque of 5 Nm.
- Install the Closure Plate
Insert the locking plate into its designated position. Fasten the closure plate with 8x M5x10 screws. Tighten the M5x10 screws to a torque of 3 Nm.
- Mount Castors or Adjustable Feet
Mount the chosen castors or adjustable feet to the base. If using adjustable feet, tighten them to a maximum torque of 5 Nm, ensuring a minimum screw depth of 10mm. If using castors, ensure that the selected cable lengths allow for the intended movements and provide appropriate strain relief for all cables.
