How to Install the Flex.Base and S2MSC4APG Adapter Plate
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the installation and assembly of the Flex.Base, a free-standing base for suspension systems, including the attachment of the S2MSC4APG adapter plate, earthing, and optional components like castors or adjustable feet.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Torque wrench, Screwdriver, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
M5 screws, M8 screws, M12 screws, Earthing wires and connectors, Optional: Weights for stability, Optional: Castors or adjustable feet
- Install the Earthing System
Before proceeding with further assembly, install the earthing system. Tighten the M5 earthing screws to a torque of 2 Nm. Ensure proper connection to the customer's earthing system, tightening any customer connection screws to 1.5 Nm. Always ensure the power supply is disconnected and suitable protective measures are taken during electrical work, which must be performed by a qualified electrician.
- Attach the Adapter Plate
Attach the appropriate adapter plate (e.g., S2MSC4APG) to the Flex.Base. Use the specified M8x20 and M12x12 screws and tighten them to a torque of 12 Nm. Ensure the adapter plate is securely fastened to provide a stable connection for the load-bearing system.
- Install Optional Weights (if applicable)
If additional stability is required, install the optional weights. Screw in each weight using two M5x40 self-tapping screws, tightening them to a torque of 5 Nm. Up to four weights can be installed.
- Install the Closure Plate
Insert the closure plate into its designated position. Secure the plate by fastening it with eight M5x10 screws, tightening each screw to a torque of 3 Nm. This step helps to enclose the base.
- Install Cover Surfaces for Cable Entries
Install the cover surfaces for any cable entries. Secure these covers by tightening their screws to 2 Nm. When routing cables, ensure that their lengths allow for the full range of movement of the suspension system and provide appropriate strain relief to prevent damage.
- Mount Castors or Adjustable Feet
Depending on your application, mount either the adjustable feet or the apparatus castors. If installing adjustable feet, tighten them to a maximum of 5 Nm, ensuring a minimum screw depth of 10mm. If installing castors, ensure they are securely attached for mobility.
