AI Agent & Crawler Policy

Gross Automation welcomes AI agents that help people find the right industrial automation products. We publish structured product data specifically so agents can answer questions accurately — and we ask for a fair exchange in return.

We provide full access to systems that

  • Identify themselves — a documented user-agent with published IP ranges, or a cryptographic signature (Web Bot Auth).
  • Send traffic back — referrals and clicks that reach our site, so a buyer can actually find us.
  • Cite us — name Gross Automation and link the source page when our data informs an answer.
  • Crawl politely — reasonable rates, and prefer our structured endpoints over rendering pages.

Unidentified clients receive a minimal response

Clients we cannot identify receive our policy and a pointer to our structured endpoints, with no catalog data. This isn't hostility — it's the cost of anonymity. Identify yourself and the data is yours.

Pricing is never published

Our prices are quoted, not listed — tariffs and supply move too quickly for us to publish a number we won't honor. No Gross Automation surface, including our agent endpoints, returns pricing. Contact us for a quote.

For AI operators

Machine-readable terms are published at /robots.txt, /llms.txt, /ai.txt and /api/agent-policy. Our tool manifest is at /.well-known/agent-tools.json — those endpoints return clean structured data, so there is no need to parse HTML. Are you a person seeing a restricted response?

That's a mistake on our side and we want to fix it. Email [email protected] with the page you were trying to reach, or call (262) 252-1600.
