This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the mechanical installation of the nVent-Hoffman ERGO.SLIDE system onto a SYSPEND 281-MAX support tube, including the integration and use of the S2MESHS extended clamping screw for height adjustment and anti-rotation.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Allen key (SW 5), Torque wrench, Screwdriver
Supplies needed:
ERGO.SLIDE (two halves), M5 Nuts (2x), SYSPEND 281-MAX Support Tube, S2MESHS Extended Clamping Screw, Spacer sleeve, Washers, Clamping lever (optional, or countersunk screw), Screws
- Observe Safety Instructions
Read the operating and installation instructions thoroughly before assembling and using the product. Ensure the power supply is disconnected and take suitable protective measures if working near power line systems. Only experienced, trained electricians and fitters should perform the installation.
- Prepare the ERGO.SLIDE
Insert two M5 nuts into the first half of the ERGO.SLIDE component.
- Mount ERGO.SLIDE to Support Tube
Place the first half of the ERGO.SLIDE, containing the nuts, onto the SYSPEND 281-MAX support tube. Then, align and put the second half of the ERGO.SLIDE together with the first half and screw them together. Ensure that the gap between the halves is positioned behind the support tube from the operator's perspective.
- Tighten the Fixed Side Connection
Tighten the front screw connection on the fixed side of the ERGO.SLIDE with a torque of 5.5 Nm to secure it firmly to the support tube.
- Install the S2MESHS Extended Clamping Screw
On the loose side of the ERGO.SLIDE, install the S2MESHS extended clamping screw. This screw replaces the standard screw and will be used for vertical height adjustment of the ERGO.SLIDE.
- Mount the Anti-Rotation Device
Push the spacer sleeve between the sheets of the ERGO.SLIDE. Then, mount either the washer and clamping lever (as described in section 9.1) or a countersunk screw (as described in section 9.2) to prevent rotation. Tighten the clamping lever or screw with a maximum torque of 2 Nm. Note that the S2MESHS extended clamping screw must be used in conjunction with an anti-rotation device.
- Adjust Height and Secure ERGO.SLIDE
Loosen the S2MESHS extended clamping screw on the rear (loose) side to allow the ERGO.SLIDE to move vertically. Adjust the ERGO.SLIDE to the desired height position. Once the correct position is achieved, tighten the extended clamping screw with a maximum torque of 5.5 Nm to secure the ERGO.SLIDE in place.
