How to Assemble the Flex.Base Suspension System with S2MSYSAPG Adapter Plate
This guide provides detailed instructions for the mechanical assembly and earthing of the Flex.Base, a ground-contacting base for HMI suspension systems. It specifically covers the installation of the S2MSYSAPG adapter plate and other optional components.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Torque wrench, Screwdriver, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
S2MSYSAPG adapter plate, M5 screws, M8x20 screws, M12x12 screws, Earthing conductors, Optional weights, Closure plate, Optional castors, Optional adjustable feet, Sealing accessories
- Install the Adapter Plate
Screw on the S2MSYSAPG adapter plate to the Flex.Base. Fasten the adapter plate using 4x M8x20 screws and 4x M12x12 screws. Tighten all screws to 12 Nm. Ensure the adapter plate is correctly oriented before tightening.
- Install the Earthing System
Connect the earthing conductors to the designated connection points on the Flex.Base. Tighten the M5 earthing screws to 2 Nm. For customer connections, tighten the respective screw to 1.5 Nm. Ensure the power supply is disconnected and suitable protective measures are taken before working with power line systems. Risk of electric shock! This task must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
- Connect the Suspension System
Connect your suspension system or HMI device to the installed adapter plate. Refer to the specific instructions for your suspension system for detailed connection procedures. Ensure all connections are secure and that outgoing cables are not stretched or distorted. Provide appropriate strain relief for all cables.
- Install Optional Weights (if applicable)
If additional stability is required, install up to four optional weights. Screw in each weight using 2x M5x40 self-tapping screws. Tighten these screws to 5 Nm.
- Install the Closure Plate
Insert the closure plate into its position on the Flex.Base. Fasten the plate using 8x M5x10 screws. Tighten these screws to 3 Nm.
- Mount Castors or Adjustable Feet (if applicable)
If using adjustable feet, mount them to the base and tighten to a maximum of 5 Nm, ensuring a minimum screw depth of 10mm. If using apparatus castors, mount them securely. When using castors for a movable system, ensure selected cable lengths allow for movement and provide appropriate strain relief.
- Cover Cable Entries
Install any cover plates for cable entries. Tighten screws to 2 Nm. Do not damage seals during installation to maintain the specified technical characteristics and IP protection.
