This guide provides step-by-step instructions for safely installing Multi-Seal® RAB 1/0 Series connectors. Installation must be performed by trained installers following all applicable electrical codes and safety rules due to the danger of electric shock. Ensure all unused cable ports are sealed and follow standard safety practices.

Tools needed:
Wire strippers, Torque wrench
Supplies needed:
Cable, Insulating gloves
- Prepare the Cap (if applicable)
If installing #14 to #4 AWG cable, remove the cap from the connector. Cut the cap at the correct cut-off ring for your cable size. The cap is not required for #2 to 1/0 AWG cable.
- Remove the Screw Plug
Remove the screw plug from the connector.
- Reinsert the Cap (if prepared)
If you prepared the cap in Step 1, reinsert it into the connector.
- Measure and Strip the Cable
Place the cable alongside the markings on the bottom of the connector to measure the required strip length. Carefully strip the cable to this measured length.
- Insert the Cable
Insert the stripped cable fully into the connector. For #2 to 1/0 AWG cable, insert it into the tower. For #14 to #4 AWG cable, insert it into the cap.
- Replace the Screw Plug
Replace the screw plug into the connector, ensuring it is properly seated.
- Torque the Connector
Using a torque wrench, torque the connector to 80 in/lbs to ensure a secure and proper connection. Tap conductors may be installed on an energized main but IT MUST NOT BE UNDER LOAD.
