Tools needed:
Torque wrench, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Multi-Seal® RAB 1/0 SERIES connector, Electrical cable
- Remove Cap (if required)
Remove the cap from the connector. Note that the cap is not required for #2 to 1/0 AWG cables.
- Remove Screw Plug
Unscrew and remove the screw plug from the connector.
- Prepare Cap (if required)
If installing a #14 to #4 AWG cable, cut the cap at the correct cut-off ring to match the cable size.
- Reinsert Prepared Cap (if required)
If the cap was cut in the previous step, reinsert the prepared cap into the connector.
- Strip Cable
Measure the required strip length by placing the cable alongside the markings on the bottom of the connector. Then, use wire strippers to strip the cable to the measured length.
- Insert Cable
Insert the stripped cable fully into the connector. For #2 to 1/0 AWG cables, insert into the tower. For #14 to #4 AWG cables, insert into the cap.
- Replace Screw Plug
Reinsert and hand-tighten the screw plug into the connector.
- Torque Connector
Using a torque wrench, tighten the connector to 80 in/lbs to ensure a secure and proper electrical connection.
