How to Install the nVent Hoffman ERGO.SLIDE and S2MESAK Keyboard Tray
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the ERGO.SLIDE height adjustment system onto a SYSPEND 281-MAX support tube and then mounting the S2MESAK keyboard tray, including optional clamping to prevent rotation. Exercise caution due to possible sharp edges during installation.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Torque wrench or torque screwdriver (capable of 1.5 Nm, 2 Nm, 3 Nm, 5.5 Nm), Allen key (SW 5)
Supplies needed:
M5 Nuts (for ERGO.SLIDE assembly), Washers (for keyboard tray assembly), Screws (for keyboard tray assembly), Spacer sleeve (for clamping mechanism), Clamping lever or countersunk screw (for clamping mechanism)
- Assemble the ERGO.SLIDE
Insert the two M5 nuts into the first half of the ERGO.SLIDE. Place this first half onto the SYSPEND 281-MAX support tube. Join the second half of the ERGO.SLIDE with the first half and screw them together.
- Mount and Position the ERGO.SLIDE
Ensure the gap of the ERGO.SLIDE is positioned behind the support tube from the operator's perspective. Tighten the front screw connection (fixed side) to 5.5 Nm. To adjust the vertical position, unfasten the rear screw connection, slide the ERGO.SLIDE to the desired height, and then tighten the rear screw connection to a maximum of 5.5 Nm.
- Prepare the S2MESAK Keyboard Tray
Remove the 8 screws and washers that secure the main keyboard shelf to its base. Carefully set the main keyboard shelf aside.
- Attach the Keyboard Tray Base to the ERGO.SLIDE
Loosen the 4 nuts on the lower part of the keyboard shelf sufficiently so that the sheets can be pushed over the ERGO.SLIDE. Do not remove the nuts completely. Slide the lower part of the keyboard shelf onto the ERGO.SLIDE.
- Secure the Keyboard Tray Base
Tighten the 4 nuts on the keyboard tray base to 3 Nm.
- Re-assemble the Keyboard Tray
Place the main keyboard shelf back onto its secured base. Mount the 8 washers and screws that were previously removed. Tighten these screws to 3 Nm.
- Optional: Prevent Keyboard Tray Rotation (Clamping)
To prevent the keyboard tray from swiveling, choose one of the following methods: For clamping with a lever, push a spacer sleeve between the sheets, then mount a washer and the clamping lever, tightening to a maximum of 2 Nm. For clamping with a countersunk screw, push a spacer sleeve between the sheets, then mount the countersunk screw, tightening to a maximum of 2 Nm. For permanent fixing in the front position (after which the shelf can no longer be swiveled), tighten the designated screw to a maximum of 1.5 Nm.
