The overhead rack can mount to most overhead racks or cable trays, or be suspended from the ceiling in numerous configurations. The 4-Post distribution rack enables the deployment of zone areas for greater scalability and quicker server deployments. The 4-Post overhead rack is 6RU, made of steel, and is white.

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the Panduit Overhead 4 Post Rack, installing it to an overhead Unistrut structure, and attaching D-Ring Panels.

Supplies needed:
12x 3/8-16 Carriage Bolts, 12x 3/8-16 Hex Serrated Flange Nuts, 4x #10-32 Screws, 2x #10-32 Nuts, 4x #12-24 Screws, 4x 1/4-20 Bolts, 4x 1/4-20 Strut Nuts, 4x 1/4-20 Spring Washers
- Assemble the Main Rack Brackets
Connect the main brackets of the rack using the twelve 3/8-16 Carriage Bolts and twelve 3/8-16 Hex Serrated Flange Nuts. Ensure mount channels are installed centered on the main brackets and at the widest possible spacing for maximum stability. Torque all 3/8-16 fasteners to a minimum of 23.0 Ft-lbs (31.2 N-m).
- Adjust Rack Front-to-Back Depth
Adjust the front-to-back depth of the rack as needed using the #10-32 Screws and #10-32 Nuts.
- Install Rack to Overhead Unistrut Structure
Verify that the overhead structure can safely support the weight of the rack and all intended equipment; do not exceed 150 pounds of equipment weight. Attach the assembled rack to the Unistrut Overhead Structure Channels. Use four 1/4-20 Bolts, four 1/4-20 Strut Nuts, and four 1/4-20 Spring Washers for this connection. Torque the 1/4-20 Bolts to a minimum of 6 ft-lbs (8.1 N-m).
- Assemble D-Ring Panels
Attach the D-Ring Panels (Part Numbers PZLRB4P6LR & PZLRB4P6LRWH) to the rack using the #12-24 Screws.
