Strip 2.00 inches (50.8mm) of the cable's outer jacket. Based on your cable type (F/UTP, S/FTP, U/FTP, SF/UTP), manage the foil, braid, and drain wire as illustrated on page 1 of the instructions, ensuring the conductive side of the foil faces outward where applicable. Safety Warning: Never install communications wiring during a lightning storm or in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed for such use.
- Orient the Jack and Arrange Conductors
Orient the keystone jack with the 'Puck' and 'Notch' visible as shown in Step 1 on page 2. Carefully untwist the wire pairs no more than 1/8 inch (3.2mm) from the IDC tower. Arrange the individual conductors into the appropriate color-coded slots on the jack, following either the T568A or T568B wiring scheme as indicated on the jack's label.
- Terminate Wires and Manage Shielding
Use a Panduit PDT110 Tool to punch down and terminate each conductor into the IDC tower, ensuring a secure connection and trimming excess wire. For S/FTP cables, wrap the prepared braid to the outside of the jack and trim it to length as shown in Step 8. For F/UTP cables, wrap the foil and drain wire to the outside of the jack and trim them to length as shown in Step 9. Ensure proper contact between the cable shield and the jack's shielding components.
