This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the FLEX1U12 Fiber Cassette Enclosure onto a rack, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Tak-Tys, Fiber caution label, Laser warning label
- Mount the enclosure
Secure the FLEX1U12 enclosure to the rack by pre-installing two screws in the bottom hole location of the desired rack unit. Then, place the enclosure onto the screws and install a minimum of four additional screws to secure it firmly.
- Install the trunk slack plate
Attach the trunk slack plate to the rear of the enclosure by engaging the pins into the slots and tilting it down into place. Tighten the captive screws to secure the plate.
- Connect the trunk cables
Route the trunk cables to the rear of the installed cassettes. Ensure to create a slack loop for all incoming cables, allowing for movement of the trays. Use Tak-Tys to secure the cables to the slack plate.
- Install the cassettes
Insert the cassettes into the enclosure starting from the bottom-most slot on the right. Push each cassette forward until it clicks into place, populating from right to left.
- Label the enclosure
Apply the fiber caution and laser warning labels to the enclosure as per the provided instructions to ensure safety compliance.
