Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Tak-Tys, Fiber caution label, Laser warning label
- Mount the enclosure
Secure the FLEX2U04 enclosure to the rack using a minimum of four screws. Ensure the enclosure is level and firmly attached.
- Install the trunk slack plate
Engage the pins on the trunk slack plate into the slots on the enclosure and tilt down into place. Tighten captive screws to secure.
- Connect trunk cabling
Attach the trunk cabling to the rear port of the cassette. Ensure the polarity label on the cassette is oriented correctly.
- Install cassettes
Insert the cassettes into the enclosure starting from the bottom most slot on the right. Push forward until they click into place.
- Route and secure cables
Create a slack loop for all incoming trunk cables and secure them using Tak-Tys to the cable slack plate or vertical cable manager.
- Install patch cords
Open the enclosure door and pull the bottom tray out to the service position. Install patch cords into the cassettes from left to right.
- Label the enclosure
Apply the fiber caution label and laser warning label to the enclosure as per the installation guidelines.
