This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the FLEX4U12 Fiber Cassette Enclosure on a DIN rail.

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Tak-Tys, Fiber caution label, Laser warning label
- Mount the enclosure
Position the FLEX4U12 enclosure onto the rack. Pre-install two screws in the top hole location of the bottom most RU in the desired rack position. Secure the enclosure with a minimum of four screws.
- Install the trunk slack plate
Engage the pins on the trunk slack plate into the slots on the enclosure and tilt down into place. Tighten the captive screws to secure the plate.
- Connect trunk cabling
Attach the trunk cabling to the rear port of the cassette. Ensure the polarity label on the cassette is oriented correctly. Insert the cassette into the slot and push forward until it clicks into place.
- Install patch cords
Open the enclosure door and pull the tray out to the service position. Install patch cords into the front of the cassettes from left to right, starting with the bottom most row.
- Calibrate and test
Verify that all trays move freely after routing cables. Adjust if necessary. Use a multimeter to check connections and ensure proper functionality.
