FWME1BL-DIN
The FWME1BL-DIN Rail Mount Adapter mounts to a standard 35mm DIN rail. How to Install the FCS2ZO-12-LSP Opticom LC Splice Cassette
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and splicing incoming fiber cables into the FCS2ZO-12-LSP Opticom LC Splice Cassette, and then installing the cassette into a compatible panel or enclosure.

Tools needed:
#2 Phillips screwdriver, Scissors, Fiber optic splicer, Fiber cleaver, Fiber strippers, Isopropyl alcohol
Supplies needed:
PLT1M-M20WIP Pan-Ty Cable Ties, 1/4" Phillips Screws, Splice Sleeves (Discrete), Dust caps for unmated connectors, Incoming fiber cable
- Observe Safety Warnings and Remove Cassette Cover
WARNING: Unmated connectors may emit invisible laser radiation. Always maintain dust caps on unmated connectors. CAUTION: Fiber optic cable is sensitive to excessive pulling, bending, and crushing forces. Consult the cable manufacturer’s specification sheet. Push down the Cover Removal Latch in the rear of the cassette and slide the Cover back until the 4 tabs clear to remove it from the base.
- Prepare Incoming Fiber Cable
Strip the outer jacket of the incoming fiber cable by 20 inches (0.5 meters). Secure the incoming fiber cable to the Base using two provided Pan-Ty Cable Ties. Optionally, secure the incoming fiber cable's Aramid yarn to the Base using the provided 1/4" Phillips screw(s).
- Prepare Fibers for Splicing
Expose all fiber ends for splicing. Slide a splice sleeve onto either the pigtail or field fiber. Strip off approximately 1.375 inches (35mm) of coating from each fiber and clean with isopropyl alcohol. Cleave the fiber so that 0.400 inches (10mm) of bare fiber extends past the fiber coating. Do not clean the bare fiber after it has been cleaved, and do not let it come into contact with any surfaces.
- Perform Fiber Splicing and Secure Sleeves
Splice all fibers according to your splicer manufacturer's best practice instructions and heat the splice sleeve(s). Route the spliced fibers into the cassette, ensuring they are located under the Base fiber retention tabs. Secure the splice sleeves into the discrete Splice Sleeve Holders on the Base.
- Reassemble Cassette Cover
Re-install the Cassette Cover by pushing it forward until the Cover Removal Latch 'clicks' into place, ensuring it engages underneath the Base tabs in all four places.
- Install Cassette into Panel or Enclosure
Install the cassette onto the front of compatible panels or enclosures by snapping the two grommets into the designated holes. Alternatively, for rear installation, use a finger to push the Bezel latch inward to release the Bezel from the cassette, install the cassette through the rear, then re-attach the Bezel and secure the grommets to the front.
