- Mount the PDU
Mount the PDU securely within the datacenter rack or cabinet. For vertical PDUs, insert mounting buttons into keyhole slots on the rack's mounting bracket and secure with a #2 Phillips screwdriver to 3.0Nm. For horizontal PDUs, install cage nuts at the desired U location and attach mounting bracket ears to the RETMA rails, using a 2.5mm hex key Allen wrench for high-power units. Ensure proper clearance (2-3 inches) for airflow and seal unused rack spaces with blanking panels.
- Ground the PDU
Connect a ground bonding cable from the external ground bonding point on the PDU chassis to a known earthed reference terminal in the building or a grounding strip/bus bar in the rack. Ensure conductor sizes meet national or local electrical codes. This step is crucial for safety and to reduce the risk of electric shock due to high leakage currents. Bond the PDU to the rack metalwork using the external earthing screw and star washer.
- Rotate the Network Controller (Optional)

DANGER: This PDU contains LETHAL VOLTAGES. Only qualified personnel should perform this task.
