Silicone grease, Cable, Lug, Rocket sleeve, Connector bar, Terminal, Bus
- Prepare the Cable
WARNING: Danger of Electric Shock! Installation must be performed by trained installers in accordance with all applicable local, state, and national electrical codes, installation standards, and safety rules. Begin by cleaning the cable thoroughly before installing the rocket sleeve to ensure proper adhesion and sealing.
- Mark Cable Insulation
Pencil the cable insulation to mark the appropriate length for the connector, as required for your specific application.
- Select Correct Cut Ring
Identify the correct cut ring by referring to the cable range indicated by raised numbers on each ring. Match the conductor size of the cable being installed to the appropriate cut ring.
- Cut Rocket Sleeve
Carefully cut off the tip of the rocket sleeve up to the selected ring. Ensure the proper cut leaves the required conductor range visible on the sleeve.
- Crimp Lug to Cable
Using an appropriate crimping tool, compress the lug securely onto the prepared cable.
- Lubricate and Install Rocket Sleeve onto Cable
Lubricate both ends of the rocket sleeve and the cable with silicone grease. Hold the cable at an angle to the sleeve's opening, then twist the rocket sleeve while pushing it firmly onto the cable until it is fully seated.
- Position Rocket Sleeve on Bus
Slide the rocket sleeve over the lug and onto the shoulder of the bus. Continue pushing until the rocket sleeve butts firmly against the rubber of the connector bar.
- Secure Terminal to Bus
Bolt the terminal securely to the bus, ensuring a tight and reliable electrical connection.
