This guide provides step-by-step instructions for properly installing the 5333SST6 stainless steel liquid-tight fitting with flexible metallic conduit, ensuring a secure and liquid-tight connection.

Supplies needed:
Liquid-tight flexible metallic conduit, 5333SST6 Stainless Steel Fitting, Seal Gasket (e.g., 5263 for 3/4" NPT), Locknut (e.g., LNSS/075 for 3/4" NPT)
- Prepare the Flexible Metallic Conduit
Cut the end of the flexible metallic conduit with a clean, square cut. Use a metal jig, a 32 Tooth/In. hacksaw, or a power band saw (24-32 Tooth/In., not exceeding 400'/minute) for high production. DO NOT USE AN ABRASIVE WHEEL.
- Assemble the Fitting Components onto the Conduit
Slide the gland nut onto the prepared end of the flexible conduit. Next, slide the nylon sealing ring onto the conduit, ensuring it is positioned correctly after the gland nut. Finally, thread the SAFE-EDGE® ground cone into the end of the flexible conduit until it is fully seated.
- Install the Fitting into the Enclosure
Insert the fitting, with the conduit and assembled components, through the desired knockout or threaded opening in the enclosure or box wall. For knockout applications, place a seal gasket (e.g., Part No. 5263 for 3/4" NPT) over the fitting's threads against the outer surface of the box wall. From inside the enclosure, thread a locknut (e.g., Part No. LNSS/075 for 3/4" NPT) onto the fitting's threads.
- Secure the Locknut
Hand-tighten the locknut against the box wall. Further tighten the locknut an additional 1/4 turn using a hammer and a standard screwdriver, or an equivalent method, to ensure a secure connection.
- Tighten the Gland Nut
Tighten the gland nut to the UL recommended torque value for your specific fitting size. For the 3/4" NPT 5333SST6 fitting, tighten to 500 lb-in (56.5 N-m) to achieve a liquid-tight seal.
