How to Install the 5334SST6HT Liquid-Tight Flexible Metal Conduit Fitting
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for properly cutting liquid-tight flexible metal conduit and assembling the 5334SST6HT stainless steel liquid-tight fitting, ensuring a secure and sealed connection for electrical enclosures.

Hacksaw (32 teeth/inch), Metal jig, Power band saw (optional, 24-32 teeth/inch), Standard screwdriver, Hammer, Wrench
Supplies needed:
Liquid-tight flexible metal conduit, 5334SST6HT Liquid-Tight Fitting, Seal Gasket (Part No. 5264), Locknut (Part No. LNSS/100)
- Cut Flexible Metal Conduit
Cut the end of the liquid-tight flexible metal conduit with a clean, square cut. Use a metal jig and a sharp hacksaw with 32 teeth per inch, or a power band saw with 24-32 teeth per inch at no more than 400 feet per minute for high production. WARNING: Do not use an abrasive wheel for cutting.
- Assemble Fitting Components onto Conduit
First, slide the gland nut onto the cut end of the flexible metal conduit. Next, slide the nylon sealing ring onto the conduit. Finally, thread the SAFE-EDGE® ground cone into the conduit, ensuring it is properly seated.
- Install Fitting into Enclosure Knockout
For knockout applications, insert the fitting into the enclosure opening. Place the appropriate seal gasket (Part No. 5264 for 1" NPT) against the box wall on the outside, and then secure the fitting with the corresponding locknut (Part No. LNSS/100 for 1" NPT) from the inside. Hand-tighten the locknut, then further tighten it 1/4 turn using a hammer and a standard screwdriver or an equivalent method.
- Tighten the Gland Nut
Tighten the gland nut to the UL recommended value of 700 lb-in (79.1 N-m). Ensure the connection is liquid-tight and dust-tight for optimal performance.
