What material is the liquidtight sealing gasket made of?
The liquidtight sealing gasket has a 316 stainless steel ring for corrosion protection and is filled with TPE for higher temperature and chemical resistance.
When should an externally bonded fitting be used?
An externally bonded fitting is used when an external bonding jumper is required around liquidtight flexible metal conduit. It's for indoor and outdoor locations exposed to continuous or intermittent moisture.
What material is the new liquidtight fitting made from?
The new liquidtight fitting is manufactured from 316 stainless steel, offering superior corrosion resistance.
What is the maximum temperature rating for high-temperature fittings?
High-temperature fittings are designed for extreme temperatures up to 150° C.
What is the size range for steel liquidtight fittings?
Steel liquidtight fittings are available in sizes from 1/4" to 6" in straight, 45°, and 90° styles, with insulated and non-insulated options.
What is the size range for Steel Quick-Connect™ fittings?
Steel Quick-Connect™ fittings are available in sizes from 3/8" to 1" in straight, 45°, and 90° styles, with insulated and non-insulated options.
What is the size range for aluminum liquidtight fittings?

How to Install the 5331SST6HT Liquid-Tight Flexible Metal Conduit Fitting
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the 5331SST6HT stainless steel liquid-tight fitting onto flexible metallic conduit and securing it to an enclosure or box wall.
Estimated time: 15m
Tools needed:
Hacksaw, Standard screwdriver, Hammer, Torque wrench
Supplies needed:
5331SST6HT Liquid-Tight Fitting, Liquid-tight flexible metal conduit (LFMC), LNSS/038 Locknut (if using a knockout), 5261 Seal Gasket (if using a knockout)
- Prepare the Flexible Metal Conduit
Cut the end of the flexible conduit with a clean, square cut. Use a metal jig, a sharp hacksaw with 32 teeth/inch, or a power band saw (24-32 teeth/inch, not more than 400 ft/minute). DO NOT use an abrasive wheel.
- Assemble the Fitting Components onto the Conduit
Slide the gland nut onto the prepared end of the flexible metal conduit. Next, slide the nylon sealing ring onto the conduit, ensuring it is correctly oriented. Finally, thread the SAFE-EDGE® ground cone onto the conduit.
- Install the Fitting into the Enclosure
Insert the assembled fitting into the desired opening in the box wall or enclosure. For knockout applications, place the 5261 seal gasket (if required for liquid-tight seal) and then thread the LNSS/038 locknut onto the fitting from the inside of the enclosure.
- Secure the Locknut (for Knockout Applications)
If using a locknut for knockout applications, hand-tighten the LNSS/038 locknut and then further tighten it 1/4 turn using a hammer and a standard screwdriver, or an equivalent method. The recommended torque for the LNSS/038 locknut is 70 lb-in (7.9 N-m).
- Tighten the Gland Nut
Tighten the gland nut to the UL recommended value to ensure a liquid-tight seal. For the 5331SST6HT fitting (3/8" NPT), the recommended tightening torque for the gland nut is 235 lb-in (26.6 N-m).
