How to Install a 5336SST6HT Liquid-Tight Flexible Metallic Conduit Fitting
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the proper installation of the 5336SST6HT stainless steel liquid-tight fitting for flexible metallic conduit, ensuring high performance and reliability.

5336SST6HT Liquid-Tight Fitting, Flexible Metallic Conduit, LNSS/150 Locknut, 5266 Seal Gasket
- Prepare the Flexible Metallic Conduit
Cut the end of the flexible metallic conduit with a clean, square cut. Use a metal jig and a sharp hacksaw (32 teeth/inch) or a power band saw (24-32 teeth/inch, not exceeding 400 ft/minute) for high production. Do not use an abrasive wheel.
- Assemble Fitting Components onto Conduit
Slide the gland nut onto the prepared end of the flexible metallic conduit. Next, slide the nylon sealing ring onto the conduit. Finally, thread the SAFE-EDGE® ground cone onto the conduit end, ensuring it is properly seated.
- Install Fitting into Box Wall
Insert the threaded body of the 5336SST6HT fitting through the knockout opening in the box wall. From inside the box, place the 5266 seal gasket over the fitting threads against the box wall. Thread the LNSS/150 locknut onto the fitting threads, securing the fitting to the box wall.
- Secure the Locknut
Hand-tighten the LNSS/150 locknut. Then, further tighten the locknut an additional 1/4 turn using a hammer and a standard screwdriver, or an equivalent method, to ensure a secure connection.
- Tighten the Gland Nut
Tighten the gland nut (from Step 2) onto the fitting body. Apply a tightening torque of 1200 lb-in (136 N-m) to the gland nut to achieve a liquid-tight and dust-tight seal.
