Instructions for installing T&B Liquidtight connectors with grips, ensuring a reliable and high-performance connection.
Estimated time: 15m
Tools needed:
Hacksaw, Flat nose pliers
Supplies needed:
Metal liquid tight conduit, T&B 140 Series locknuts (for knockout applications), 5262 Series sealing o-rings (for knockout applications)
- Prepare the Conduit
Cut the flexible conduit with a clean, square end cut using a sharp hacksaw. For high production, a power band saw can be used.
- Assemble the Grip and Seal
Slide the grip with the gland-nut onto the conduit. Then, slide the sealing ring onto the conduit. Screw the ground cone tightly into the conduit. Push the sealing ring towards the ground cone and seat it into the ground cone flange.
- Insert and Secure the Connector
Insert the ground cone into the body of the connector. Push the end of the grip along the conduit toward the body and screw the gland nut onto the body. Tighten the gland nut to the specified torque, ensuring the grip is flat and fully extended along the conduit.
- Prepare for Knockout Applications (if applicable)
If using for knockout applications, use T&B 140 Series locknuts and 5262 Series sealing o-rings. These should be purchased separately. Ensure the sealing o-ring is correctly positioned on the outside of the box.
