This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the proper installation of T&B liquidtight flexible metallic conduit connectors with grips, ensuring high performance and reliability for various applications.

Hacksaw, Power band saw, Flat nose pliers, Wrench
Supplies needed:
T&B Liquidtight Connector with Grip, Liquidtight Flexible Metallic Conduit, T&B 140 Series Locknut (optional), 5262 Series Sealing O-ring (optional)
- Prepare the Conduit
Cut the flexible conduit with a clean, square end. Use a hacksaw with 32 teeth/inch or a power band saw with 24-32 teeth/inch (not more than 400 surface feet per minute). CAUTION: Do not use an abrasive wheel for cutting.
- Pre-assemble Connector Components
Slide the grip with the gland-nut onto the conduit. If installing at maximum cord diameter, use flat nose pliers to slightly preform the endless weave mesh by carefully forming loops round. Next, slide the sealing ring onto the conduit.
- Attach Ground Cone
Screw the ground cone tightly into the conduit.
- Seat Sealing Ring
Push the sealing ring towards the ground cone and ensure it is fully seated into the ground cone flange.
- Insert Ground Cone into Body
Insert the assembled ground cone, with the conduit and sealing ring, into the connector body.
- Secure Gland Nut and Grip
Push the end of the grip along the conduit towards the body and screw the gland nut onto the connector body. Tighten the gland nut to the manufacturer's specified torque (refer to the torque table in the product documentation). After tightening, verify that the grip is laying flat and fully extended along the conduit. For knockout applications, use T&B 140 Series locknuts and 5262 Series sealing o-rings (purchased separately).
