How to Install the FLEX2U06 Enclosure

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the FLEX2U06 enclosure, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Tak-Tys, Fiber caution label, Laser warning label

  1. Mount the enclosure

Secure the FLEX2U06 enclosure to the rack using a minimum of four screws. Ensure the enclosure is level and firmly attached. If RU space is available above, pre-install two screws in the bottom hole location of the desired rack position.

  2. Install the trunk slack plate

Attach the trunk slack plate to the rear of the enclosure by engaging the pins into the slots and tilting it down into place. Tighten the captive screws to secure the plate.

  3. Connect trunk cabling

Create a slack loop for all incoming trunk cables and attach them to the rear port of the cassette. Ensure the polarity label on the cassette is oriented correctly. Allow a minimum of 28" of slack for split routing.

  4. Install cassettes

Insert cassettes into the enclosure starting from the bottom-most slot on the right. Push forward until they click into place. Populate the entire row from right to left before moving to the next row.

  5. Install patch cords

Open the enclosure door and pull the bottom tray out to the service position. Install patch cords into the front of the cassettes from left to right, starting with the bottom-most row. Repeat until all patch cabling is installed.

  6. Label the enclosure

Apply the fiber caution and laser warning labels to the enclosure as specified. Use Panduit labeling software for additional port identification labels if necessary.
