Liquidtight Flexible Metal Conduit, 5262 Series Sealing Rings (for knockout applications, if needed)
- Prepare the Conduit
Disconnect power before installation to avoid risk of shock. Using a sharp hacksaw or band saw, cut the liquidtight flexible metal conduit cleanly and squarely. Remove any burrs or frayed material from the cut edge to ensure proper sealing and connection.
- Prepare the Fitting
Do not disassemble the fitting. Lightly spin the gland nut down until you feel minor resistance, indicating that the sealing ring and ground cone chamfer are in contact.
- Insert the Conduit
Align the conduit with the exposed end of the ground cone. Carefully push the conduit onto the ground cone. Once the conduit end enters the sealing ring, firmly push it completely in until it bottoms out. To verify full insertion, mark the conduit at the specified depth (refer to the documentation's table for depth values) from the cut end; this mark should align with the top of the sealing ring when fully inserted. Do not pull back on the conduit once it is fully inserted.
