SpectraCool Compact Advanced Corrosion Protection Lvl 1 RAC, 2000BTU 230V, Lt Gray, SteelHow to Install the N210246G050 Air Conditioner
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the installation and initial setup of the N210246G050 Air Conditioner, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Gasket kit, Drain tube
- Inspect the air conditioner
Check for any visible damage and verify functionality by connecting the unit to a power supply. Ensure the compressor and blowers operate without excessive noise or vibration.
- Prepare the mounting location
Determine if the unit will be surface or recess mounted. Prepare the enclosure opening according to the cutout dimensions provided in the manual, ensuring adequate clearance for ventilation.
- Install the air conditioner
Using the gasket kit, attach gaskets to the air conditioner. Mount the unit using the provided 1/4-20x.625 mounting bolts, ensuring each bolt is torqued to 65 in./lbs. Allow the unit to remain upright for at least five minutes before starting.
- Connect the power supply
Refer to the nameplate for electrical requirements. Connect the power cord or wire the unit to a properly grounded power supply, following national wiring regulations. Avoid using an extension cord.
- Route the drain tube
Ensure the drain tube is installed with a continuous downward slope to prevent kinking. Verify that it is not elevated above the exit point of the air conditioner to avoid overflow.
- Test the air conditioner
After installation, power on the unit and allow it to run for 5-10 minutes. Check for proper operation of the evaporator and condenser blowers, and ensure the compressor is functioning without overheating.
- Calibrate the thermostat
Adjust the thermostat to the desired temperature setting. Remove the nylon plug and use a screwdriver to set the temperature. Ensure the setting is within the operational range specified in the manual.
