How to Install the CR230246G400 Air Conditioner

Installation guide for mounting and wiring the CR230246G400 air conditioner.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wrench, Ratchet driver

Supplies needed:

Mounting gasket kit, Mounting bolts, Washers

  1. Inspect and Test Functionality

Inspect the air conditioner for any shipping damage. Verify its functionality by operating it for 5-10 minutes. Ensure no excessive noise or vibration is present, and that the condenser blower, evaporator blower, and compressor are running. Condenser air temperatures should become warmer than room temperature within minutes. If the unit was in a horizontal position, ensure it has been upright for at least 5 minutes before testing. Do not operate the unit while horizontal, as this can damage the compressor and void the warranty.

  2. Prepare Enclosure Openings

Using the cutout dimensions provided in this manual, prepare the enclosure for the air 'IN' and air 'OUT' openings, as well as the mounting bolt hole pattern.

  3. Install Gaskets

Apply the provided mounting gasket kit to the rear of the air conditioner according to the instructions on page 6.

  4. Mount the Air Conditioner

Mount the air conditioner onto the enclosure using the provided mounting bolts and washers. Start bolts by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten with a wrench or ratchet driver. Ensure the unit remains upright during operation.

  5. Connect Power Supply

Refer to the top of the nameplate for electrical requirements. Connect the power cord to a properly grounded power supply. Use of an extension cord is not recommended. The electrical circuit should be fused with a slow blow or HACR circuit breaker. Check the nameplate or datasheet for specific electrical current requirements, as minimum circuit ampacity should be at least 125% of the amperage shown.

  6. Adjust Temperature Controller (if applicable)

If the unit is equipped with an automatic temperature controller, it is preset at the factory. For Level I controllers, disconnect power, open the front panel, and adjust the controller screw clockwise to decrease or counter-clockwise to increase the temperature set point. For Level II and III controllers, refer to the separate programming manual. After adjustment, close the front panel and restore power.
