How to Install the N210246G800 Air Conditioner

Installation guide for mounting and wiring the N210246G800 SpectraCool Air Conditioner.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wrench, Ratchet driver

Supplies needed:

Gasket kit, 1/4-20x.625 mounting bolts, Copper conductors

  1. Verify Functionality

Inspect the air conditioner and verify correct functionality before mounting. If the unit has been in a horizontal position, ensure it has been upright for at least 5 minutes before operation. Refer to the nameplate for proper electrical requirements and test the unit by connecting it to a properly grounded power supply. The evaporator blower should start immediately, and after 5-10 minutes, the condenser blower and compressor should also be running. Check for excessive noise or vibration.

  2. Prepare Enclosure and Mount Unit

Determine if the unit will be surface or recess mounted and prepare the enclosure opening using the appropriate cutout dimensions. Ensure adequate ventilation and clearance around the installation location (24" from front, 2" from right, 9" from left, 6" from top). Install the provided gasket kit to the air conditioner. Mount the air conditioner onto the enclosure using the provided 1/4-20x.625 mounting bolts, using the "EZ" mount tabs to hold the unit in place while mounting. Torque each bolt to 65 in./lbs. Start bolts by hand before tightening with a wrench or ratchet driver to avoid cross-threading.

  3. Route Drain Tube

Carefully route the drain tube, ensuring it maintains a continuous downward slope and does not kink or elevate above the exit point. Failure to do so could result in overflowing the condensate drain pan.

  4. Connect Power Supply

Refer to the top of the nameplate for electrical requirements. Connect the power cord or wire the unit to a properly grounded power supply using copper conductors only, following applicable national wiring regulations. Ensure the electrical circuit is fused with a time delay fuse or HACR circuit breaker per the MOPD rating. Do not connect other equipment to this circuit to prevent overloading. Power supply wiring should be restrained to prevent contact with the internal fan.
