How to Install the URM480 UPS

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the URM480 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) in a rack.

Mounting screws, Cage nuts, Terminal connectors

  1. Prepare the rack

    Install the URMKIT2 rail kit by attaching the front side of the rail kit with 3x Phillips Pan Head M5 screws on each rail. Do not tighten the screws yet.

  2. Secure the rail kit

    Adjust the rail size according to the depth of the rack, then install the rear side of the rail kit with 3x Phillips Pan Head M5 screws on each rail. Tighten all screws to secure the rail kit to the rack.

  3. Install the UPS unit

    Remove the faceplate of the UPS by pressing both sides until the latches release. Connect the internal battery cartridge and reinstall the faceplate. Slide the UPS into the rack on the rail kit and secure it with 4x Phillips Hex Head M5 screws.

  4. Connect power

    Ensure that the UPS is properly grounded and connect the power input to an earth-grounded outlet. Verify all connections with a multimeter before powering on.

  5. Perform initial setup

    Power on the UPS and configure the settings as per the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the internal battery is fully charged before use.
