How to Install the FPONE1 Fiber PON Enclosure
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the FPONE1 Fiber PON Enclosure, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Drill, Screwdriver, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Expansion bolts, Fiber pigtails, Splitters, Splice sleeves
- Mount the enclosure
Drill four holes in the wall using the provided drill template. Insert an expansion bolt into each hole, align the enclosure with the holes, and fasten it securely to the wall.
- Route the drop cables
Route the drop cables through the attachment hardware located on the bottom right side of the enclosure. Ensure the cables are positioned to enter the front of the flip tray.
- Install the pigtails and splitters
Attach the connectorized end of the pigtails to the adapters in the adapter storage. For splitters, connect them to the adapters from the breakout side and then secure the splitter to the rear of the flip tray.
- Prepare the outside plant cable
Route the outside plant cable into the bottom left corner of the enclosure and attach it inside the bracket. Strip 38 inches of the unit tube and expose 18 inches of fiber for splicing.
- Complete the fusion splice
Perform the fusion splice on the exposed fiber and cover it with a splice sleeve. Install the splice sleeve in the splice storage at the rear of the flip tray, routing the fiber slack counterclockwise and the unit tube clockwise.
