Non-insulated terminals, Non-insulated splices, Stripped wire

  1. Insert the terminal or splice

    With the handles in the open position, insert the terminal or splice into the appropriate crimp pocket. Ensure the seam of the terminal is opposite the indentor.

  2. Crimp the terminal or splice

    Close the tool handles until the terminal or splice barrel is held snugly in position—do not deform the barrel. Then, crimp by closing the handles until the controlled cycle mechanism releases.

  3. Inspect the crimp

    After crimping, inspect the crimp to ensure it is centered on the barrel for optimal pullout performance. If the crimp is not centered, repeat the crimping process.

  4. Verify power is OFF

    Before working on wiring, ensure that the power is turned OFF to avoid electrical shock. Use a multimeter to verify.
