How to Install the Star Teck Extreme STE250GRL Cable Fitting
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for preparing the cable and properly installing the Star Teck Extreme STE250GRL cable fitting to ensure a secure and sealed connection. WARNING: Disconnect power before installation to avoid risk of shock. This product should be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with national and local electrical codes.

STE250GRL cable fitting, Armored cable (appropriate size)
- Prepare the Armored Cable
Determine the working length of conductors required inside the enclosure or device. Carefully remove a portion of the cable's outer jacket to expose the armor. Cut the exposed armor using a hacksaw, then trim the outer jacket to achieve an exposed armor strip length between 2.265 and 2.840 inches, as indicated in the product table. CAUTION: Do not nick or cut the conductor insulation during this process.
- Insert Cable into the Fitting
Feed the prepared armored cable through the gland funnel entry of the STE250GRL fitting. Push the cable firmly until the cable armor makes contact with the internal armor stop. If the inner conductor bundle cannot pass through, unscrew and discard the armor stop (refer to Figure 6 in the documentation), then repeat this insertion step. Ensure the cable armor is correctly positioned to facilitate proper cable armor grounding.
- Secure and Seal the Gland Nut
Tighten the gland nut of the fitting. Apply torque until an appropriate seal is achieved, or to the maximum recommended torque for the STE250, which is between 2075 and 2425 in-lbs. Verify that the bushing and collar ring seal evenly around the cable's outer jacket and are flush with the glandnut face. Ensure the cable remains centered within the fitting to achieve an optimal and reliable seal.
