Star Teck™ ST300-481 Cable Fitting, Armored Cable
- Select the Correct Cable Fitting
Choose the appropriate Star Teck™ cable fitting (e.g., ST300-481) that accommodates the enclosure and the specific armored cable you are using. Refer to the product table for compatibility based on cable jacket and armor ranges.
- Prepare the Cable
Determine the required working length of the conductor inside the enclosure or device. Carefully remove a portion of the cable's outer jacket to expose the armor. Use a hacksaw to cut the armor, then trim the outer jacket to achieve the specified exposed armor strip length as indicated in the product table. CAUTION: Do not nick or cut the conductor insulation during this process.
- Insert the Cable into the Fitting
Feed the prepared cable through the gland nut opening of the fitting. Push the cable until its armor firmly contacts the internal end stop of the fitting.
- Secure and Seal the Gland Nut
Tighten the gland nut until an appropriate seal is achieved around the cable's outer jacket, or tighten to the maximum torque specified in the product table for the ST300-481 fitting. Ensure the bushing seals evenly around the cable’s outer jacket and the cable remains centered to obtain an optimal seal.
