This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the safe and proper installation of Star Teck™ PVC cable fittings, including cable preparation and sealing procedures. Always disconnect power before installation and ensure the product is installed by a qualified electrician.

- Select Fitting and Prepare Cable
Before installation, ensure power is disconnected. Select the appropriate Star Teck™ PVC fitting for your enclosure and cable type. Determine the required working length, then carefully remove a portion of the outer jacket to expose the cable armor. Using a hacksaw, cut the armor and trim the outer jacket to achieve the exposed armor strip length indicated in the product table.
- Prepare the Cable Boot
Determine the correct cutting point for the cable boot. You can either unscrew the gland nut, force the square-cut cable into the boot, and then cut the boot in front of the cable (Method 1), or strip the cable jacket off the armor and progressively cut slices off the boot until the opening snugly slides onto the armor (Method 2). Ensure there are no gaps between the boot and the cable jacket after cutting.
- Secure and Seal the Cable Fitting
Feed the prepared cable through the gland nut opening and push it until the cable armor firmly hits the internal end stop. Using strap wrenches, tighten the gland nut until an appropriate seal is achieved or the maximum torque specified in the product table is reached. Verify that the bushing seals evenly around the cable's outer jacket and the cable remains centered to ensure an optimal and secure seal.
