How to Install the PS Series Flood-Seal Internal Pipe Seal

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the PS Series Flood-Seal Internal Pipe Seal to create a watertight seal around cables in pipe openings. Installation must be performed by trained installers in accordance with all applicable local, state, and national electrical codes, installation standards, and safety rules.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Utility knife, Gloves

Supplies needed:

PS Series Pipe Seal body, Cable Sealing Rockets, Flood-Seal Rocket (if applicable), Silicone grease, Insulated cables

  1. Prepare Cables

Train insulated cables through the designated cable openings of the Pipe Seal body.

  2. Seat Pipe Seal Body

Slip the Pipe Seal body over the cables and position it up to the pipe opening. Apply silicone grease generously to the pipe sealing portion of the body and to the cable openings. Firmly seat the Pipe Seal body into the open end of the pipe.

  3. Prepare Cable Sealing Rockets

For each cable, select the cut-off ring on a Cable Sealing Rocket that precisely matches the cable size and carefully cut it. Repeat this process for every cable sealing rocket that will be used.

  4. Seal Unused Openings (Optional)

If installing for single-phase applications or if there are any unused cable openings, seal these openings with an uncut 'Flood-Seal' Rocket to ensure a complete seal.

  5. Install Cable Sealing Rockets

Apply generous amounts of silicone grease to the cables and to the cut opening of each prepared Cable Sealing Rocket. Slide the appropriate rocket over each cable until it securely locks into the Pipe Seal body, creating a positive seal.
