This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing Thomas & Betts Flood-Seal Schedule 40 Internal Pipe Seals to create a watertight seal around cables in pipe installations, accommodating both single and three-phase applications.

Silicone grease, Insulated cables, Pipe Seal body, Cable Sealing Rocket, Flood-Seal Rocket
- Prepare Cables and Pipe Seal Body
WARNING: Danger of Electric Shock! Installation of this product must be performed by trained installers in accordance with all applicable local, state and national electrical codes, installation standards and safety rules. Train the insulated cables through the designated cable openings of the Pipe Seal body.
- Seat Pipe Seal Body into Pipe
Slip the Pipe Seal body over the cables and position it up to the pipe opening. Apply silicone grease generously to the pipe sealing portion of the body and to the cable openings. Firmly seat the Pipe Seal body into the open end of the pipe.
- Prepare Cable Sealing Rockets
For each cable, select the appropriate cut-off ring on the Cable Sealing Rocket that matches the cable size and carefully cut it. Repeat this process for every cable sealing rocket you will use.
- Seal Unused Openings (Single Phase)
If you are working with single-phase applications and have unused openings, seal them completely using an uncut 'Flood-Seal' Rocket to ensure a watertight closure.
- Install Cable Sealing Rockets
Apply generous amounts of silicone grease to the cables and to the cut opening of each Cable Sealing Rocket. Carefully slide the appropriate prepared rocket over each cable until it securely locks into place within the Pipe Seal body, creating a positive seal.
