This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing Thomas & Betts GR3W grounding straps, including attaching the liquid-tight connector and securing the grounding conductor.

Screwdriver, Torque Wrench, Wire Strippers
Supplies needed:
T&B Liquid-Tight Connector, Grounding Lug, Grounding Conductor
- Install Liquid-Tight Connector
Install the T&B Liquid-Tight Connector onto the conduit. This connector is not included with the grounding strap.
- Prepare Grounding Strap
Remove the bolt/screw and nut from the grounding strap to prepare it for installation.
- Position Grounding Strap
Slide the grounding strap over the gland nut of the previously installed liquid-tight connector.
- Secure Grounding Strap and Lug
Replace the bolt/screw and nut, securing the grounding lug (not included) in the desired position. Tighten the screw to 50 lb-in if using a screwdriver head, or 150 lb-in if using a hex head bolt.
- Connect Grounding Conductor
Insert the grounding conductor into the lug and securely tighten the lug screw per UL486A. If the lug is of the crimping type, ensure it is crimped before this step and disregard tightening the lug screw.
