Supplies needed:
Flood Seal® Submersible Splice Cover FSS 20 or FSS 20L, Silicon grease, Silicone sealant, Electrical connector, Insulated low voltage cable
- Select the Correct Cut-Off Ring
Select the correct cut-off ring on the rocket sleeve and cap based on the specific cable size being used for the splice.
- Prepare Rocket Sleeve and Cap
Cut off the rocket sleeve and cap at the tip of the arrow corresponding to the selected cut-off ring, ensuring that only the correct cable size is showing on the opened rocket and cap.
- Prepare Cable Insulation
Bevel or pencil the insulation of the cable by 1/4 inch. This preparation facilitates easier installation of the splice cover.
- Apply Silicon Grease
Apply silicon grease to the prepared cable insulation to aid in sliding the cover into place.
- Position Rocket and Cap
Slide the cut rocket sleeve and cap over the prepared cable, positioning it appropriately for the splice.
- Install Electrical Connector
