This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing Thomas & Betts FLOOD-SEAL 95 Heat Shrink Connector Kits. Ensure installation is performed by trained personnel following all applicable electrical codes and safety rules to prevent electric shock.

Tools needed:
Wire strippers, Wire brush, Crimping tool, Wrench or Socket, Butane torch, Propane torch, 500°F Electric Heat Gun
Supplies needed:
Electrical cable, Heat shrink sleeve, Electrical lug, Joint compound
- Prepare the Conductor
Remove the cable insulation to expose the conductor. Thoroughly wire brush the conductor to ensure a clean surface for connection.
- Position the Heat Shrink Sleeve
Carefully slip the heat shrink sleeve over the prepared cable end, ensuring it is positioned away from the area where the lug will be crimped.
- Crimp and Connect the Lug
Crimp the electrical lug securely onto the conductor end. Wipe away any excess joint compound from the crimped area. Bolt the lug firmly to the contact pad on the FLOOD SEAL connector bus.
- Position Sleeve Over Lug
Slide the heat shrink sleeve over the crimped lug until it firmly butts against the connector bus.
- Shrink Sleeve at Bus End
Apply heat evenly to the sleeve at the bus end. Continue heating until visual shrinkage occurs and a bead of mastic appears at the sleeve end, indicating a complete seal.
- Shrink Sleeve Over Terminal Lug
Working away from the connector bus, apply heat evenly to shrink the sleeve over the terminal lug, ensuring a tight fit.
- Shrink Sleeve Over Cable End
Continue applying heat evenly to shrink the sleeve over the cable end. The seal is complete when a bead of mastic appears.
