- Cut Cable Tray Sections
Use the Hoffman side action bolt cutter to make precision cuts on the cable tray, minimizing sharp edges and protecting against corrosion. First, decide which wires to cut based on your desired configuration. Position the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and cut the top side wire at an angle away from the new end. Repeat this process for all remaining side wires, ensuring clean cuts. Finally, turn the tray over and cut the bottom wires from the underside, resting the jaws on the cradle wire and cutting at an angle away from the new end.
- Form a 90-Degree Bend
At the desired bend location, cut the side and bottom wires according to the specific cutting pattern for your tray width. Turn the tray onto its uncut side and smoothly bend the tray upwards until the inside edges closest to the uncut side meet. Secure the bend using QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers at the indicated fastening locations for your tray width.
- Join Cable Tray Sections with Splice Kits
To connect two straight cable tray sections, or to secure bends and tees, use QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers. Align the tray sections as desired. Insert the three-piece staked bolt from the splice kit through the tray wires and secure it with the washer and nut. Ensure splice washers are correctly positioned to provide stability and support.
