Overview

The nVent Quick Tray Pro Center Hanger (SKU: QTPCH4) is a high-performance, lightweight gray steel support designed to securely suspend Quick Tray Pro cable management systems using a single threaded rod. This versatile center hanger is engineered for professional installations where efficient, tool-free mounting is essential. The snap-on attachment mechanism eliminates the need for nuts and bolts, significantly reducing installation time while maintaining robust structural integrity. The hanger accommodates tray widths from 4 to 24 inches (102 to 610 mm), making it ideal for both single-level and multi-level cable tray installations commonly found in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and data centers. Key features of the nVent Quick Tray Pro Center Hanger include its compatibility with 1/2-inch threaded rod (sold separately), which provides a stable mounting solution for heavy cable loads. The lightweight design and gray powder-coated finish ensure corrosion resistance and long-term durability in demanding environments. This hanger is particularly well-suited for applications requiring quick assembly and disassembly, such as temporary installations or facilities undergoing frequent reconfiguration. Industries that benefit from the nVent Quick Tray Pro Center Hanger include commercial construction, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and manufacturing plants where organized cable management is critical for safety and operational efficiency. The product's design aligns with industry standards for cable tray support systems, ensuring compliance with NEC and other electrical codes. Professionals in the electrical contracting and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) trades rely on nVent's reputation for quality and innovation when selecting components for cable management solutions. Installation is straightforward: simply snap the hanger onto the Quick Tray Pro cable tray and secure it with a single threaded rod. The hanger's design allows for easy leveling and adjustment, accommodating variations in ceiling heights and structural layouts. For multi-level installations, the 1/2-inch threaded rod provides the necessary strength to support stacked tray systems without sagging or misalignment. nVent, a global leader in electrical and thermal management solutions, has designed the Quick Tray Pro Center Hanger to complement its comprehensive line of cable management products. The company's commitment to engineering excellence and customer support makes it a trusted partner for contractors, engineers, and facility managers seeking reliable, high-performance solutions. How to Customize and Connect QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray Sections

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for cutting, bending, and connecting QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray sections to create custom cable management configurations, including 90-degree bends, elbows, and various tees.

Estimated time: 2h

Tools needed:

Hoffman Side Action Bolt Cutter (QTPBC)

Supplies needed:

QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray sections, QTPBNWK Splice Kit (or QTPBNWKBLK), QTPSSW3 Splice Washer (or QTPSSW3BLK), QTPUS10 Universal Splice Bar (or QTPUS10BLK), QTP90TKIT T-Connection or 90o Splice Bar (or QTP90TKITBLK)

  1. Prepare for Cable Tray Modification

Always use the Hoffman side action bolt cutter (QTPBC) to cut the QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray. This specialized cutter ensures precision cuts, minimizes sharp edges, and helps protect the new cut from corrosion. Before cutting, decide which wires must be removed based on the desired modification (e.g., bend, tee, or width reduction).

  2. Cut Cable Tray Side Wires

Begin by cutting the top side wire. Position the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and make the cut at an angle away from the new end. Repeat this process for all remaining side wires, ensuring each cut is clean and angled away from the new end to prevent snagging and corrosion.

  3. Cut Cable Tray Bottom Wires

Turn the cable tray over. From the underside, cut the bottom wires. Always rest the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and make the cut at an angle away from the new end. Ensure one clean cut to avoid grinding or touch-up.

  4. Form a 90-Degree Bend

At the desired bend location, cut all side wires and then the bottom wires according to the specific cutting pattern for your tray size. Turn the tray onto its uncut side and smoothly bend it upwards until the inside edges closest to the uncut side meet. Secure the bend using QTPBNWK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3 Splice Washers, fastening them at the indicated locations for your tray width.

  5. Create an Elbow Connection

For each of the two tray sections forming the elbow, cut the side wires following the specific cutting pattern for your tray width. Align the wires of the two trays at the desired angle. Fasten the joint using two QTPBNWK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3 Splice Washers for each connection point. For an adjustable angle, use one splice kit and one splice washer, centered, ensuring each splice washer covers two tray bottom wires.
