- Cut Cable Tray Sections
Always use the Hoffman side action bolt cutter (QTPBC) to make precision cuts on the cable tray. Position the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and make the cut at an angle away from the new end to minimize sharp edges and protect against corrosion. Cut the top side wire first, then the remaining side wires, and finally turn the tray over to cut the bottom wires from the underside. Ensure each cut is clean to avoid grinding or touch-up.

To create 90-degree bends, large radius bends, elbows, or tees, cut the tray wires according to the specific patterns provided in the manual for your desired configuration and tray width. Bend the tray smoothly as instructed. Secure all bends and junctions using QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers at the indicated fastening points. Utilize QTPUS10 Universal Splice Bars or QTP90TKIT T-Connection Splice Bars for additional support or specific junction types as needed, cutting them to fit if necessary.

Install straight section supports at typical 6-foot (1.5m) centers along the cable tray run. Position supports within 24 inches (610mm) of any splice on straight sections. The span between supports should not exceed the length of the tray section.
