How to Install the Side-Mount Filter Fans and Grilles

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing side-mount filter fans and grilles in an enclosure.

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cutout template

  1. Prepare the enclosure

    Apply the cutout template to the desired location on the side of the enclosure. Ensure the area is clear of internal components before cutting.

  2. Cut the opening

    Using the appropriate size cutout tool, cut the hole in the enclosure. Deburr the cutting edge to avoid sharp edges.

  3. Insert the fan or grille

    Insert the fan or grille into the cutout opening and push until all four corners snap and lock into place.

  4. Secure the installation

    If the enclosure material thickness is between 0.10 (2.5 mm) and 0.14 (3.5 mm), install mounting fasteners. For thickness greater than 0.14 (3.5 mm), ensure fasteners are used to maintain the IP/Type 12 rating.

  5. Wire the filter fan

    Follow the wiring diagrams provided to connect the filter fan to the power supply. Ensure all connections are secure.

  6. Verify clearance

    Check that the installed filter fan has a minimum clearance of 7.00 (178 mm) from any obstructions.

  7. Test the installation
