How to Install the Side-Mount Filter Fan
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing a side-mount filter fan on an enclosure, ensuring proper fit and functionality.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Drill, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cutout template
- Prepare the enclosure
Apply the cutout template to the desired location on the side of the enclosure and ensure it is properly aligned.
- Cut the opening
Using the appropriate size cutting tool, cut out the hole in the enclosure as per the template specifications. Deburr the cutting edge to avoid sharp edges.
- Insert the fan or grille
Insert the filter fan or grille into the cutout opening until all four corners snap and lock into place.
- Secure with mounting fasteners
If the enclosure material thickness is between 0.10 (2.5 mm) and 0.14 (3.5 mm), install mounting fasteners. For thicker materials, ensure fasteners are used to maintain the IP/Type 12 rating.
- Wire the filter fan
Follow the wiring diagrams provided for your specific model to connect the filter fan. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
- Verify clearance
Check that the installed filter fan has a minimum clearance of 7.00 (178 mm) from any obstructions to ensure proper airflow.
- Test the installation
Power on the filter fan and use a multimeter to verify that it is operating correctly and within the specified voltage range.
