How to Install the Side-Mount Filter Fans and Grilles
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing side-mount filter fans and grilles in an enclosure, ensuring proper airflow and cooling.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cutout template
- Prepare the enclosure
Apply the cutout template to the desired side of the enclosure. Ensure that all internal components are clear of the cutting area to avoid damage.
- Cut the opening
Using the appropriate tool, cut out the hole in the enclosure according to the size specified for your model. Deburr the cutting edge to remove any sharp edges.
- Insert the fan or grille
Insert the fan or grille into the cutout opening and push until all four corners snap and lock into place.
- Secure the installation
If the panel thickness is between 0.10 (2.5 mm) and 0.14 (3.5 mm), install mounting fasteners. For thickness greater than 0.14 (3.5 mm), ensure fasteners are used to maintain the IP/Type 12 rating.
- Wire the filter fan
Follow the wiring diagrams provided for your specific model to connect the filter fan. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
- Verify clearance
Check that the installed filter fan has a minimum clearance of 7.00 (178 mm) from any obstructions to ensure proper airflow.
