This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing side-mount filter fans and grilles in an enclosure.

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors

  1. Prepare the enclosure

    Apply the cutout template to the desired side of the enclosure. Ensure all internal components are clear of the cutting tool to avoid damage.

  2. Cut the opening

    Cut the hole in the enclosure according to the appropriate size for the model purchased. Deburr the cutting edge to prevent injury.

  3. Insert the fan or grille

    Insert the fan or grille into the opening and push until all four corners snap and lock into place.

  4. Install mounting fasteners

    If the enclosure material thickness is between .10 (2.5 mm) and .14 (3.5 mm), install mounting fasteners. For thickness greater than .14 (3.5 mm), fasteners are required. Remove the grille to access the mounting holes if necessary.

  5. Torque the fasteners

    Torque the fasteners to 20-25 in-lbs (2.3-2.8 Nm) to ensure a secure installation.

  6. Verify clearance

    Ensure that the installed filter fan has a minimum clearance of 7.00 inches (178 mm) from any obstruction.
