Overview

The nVent F88WR44 Reducer Bushing is a precision-engineered feed-through component designed to seamlessly transition between wireway sizes in industrial electrical distribution systems. Manufactured by nVent, a global leader in electrical and thermal management solutions, this 8x8 to 4x4 reducer bushing ensures optimal cable management while maintaining system integrity in demanding environments. The center hole design centers the two wireway sizes relative to each other, preventing misalignment and reducing stress on cables during installation and operation. The edge hole bushing maintains even top surfaces, ensuring compatibility with adjacent wireway sections and fittings, which is critical for maintaining enclosure protection ratings such as NEMA or IP standards. This reducer bushing is constructed from high-grade steel with a durable gray finish, providing excellent corrosion resistance and long-term performance in harsh industrial settings. The steel construction ensures structural integrity even under mechanical stress, while the feed-through design allows for clean cable routing without compromising enclosure protection. Professionals across industries rely on nVent’s reducer bushings to maintain system organization, reduce installation time, and prevent dust ingress that could damage sensitive electrical components. Typical applications include manufacturing facilities, data centers, commercial buildings, and utility installations where wireway systems require size transitions between conduit runs or cable trays. The F88WR44 is particularly valuable in retrofitting scenarios where existing infrastructure must accommodate new or upgraded wiring systems. Its compatibility with standard wireway sections and fittings makes it a versatile solution for electricians and engineers working on projects requiring compliance with NEC, OSHA, or other regulatory standards. Installation is straightforward, requiring no specialized tools beyond basic hardware. The bushing is secured within the wireway opening, ensuring a snug fit that prevents movement during operation. When selecting a reducer bushing, professionals consider factors such as material compatibility, enclosure rating requirements, and the specific wireway system in use. nVent’s reputation for reliability and innovation in electrical protection solutions makes the F88WR44 a trusted choice for engineers and contractors who demand performance and durability in their projects. By integrating the nVent F88WR44 into your wireway system, you enhance cable organization, reduce the risk of damage from dust and debris, and ensure long-term system reliability. Whether used in new construction or maintenance projects, this reducer bushing delivers the precision and durability required for professional electrical installations.

How to Install the Feed-Through Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Feed-Through Wireway, ensuring proper assembly and secure connections.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Nuts, Lockwashers

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Install the telescope fitting

Assemble the telescope fitting parts in the correct order, insert the body into the straight section, and adjust to the desired length. Ensure the gasket is properly seated and secure with screws and nuts.

  3. Anchor the telescope fitting

Drill .25 inch diameter holes through the straight section and telescope fitting at the desired extension. Install .25−20x.5 screws through the holes from the outside and secure with cap nuts and lockwashers.

  4. Cut the wireway to length

Cut the wireway body to the desired length, ensuring a square cut. Weld an extra flange to the body and grind off any sharp edges.

  5. Install swivel nipples

Position the wireway section, flange gasket, swivel ring, and swivel nipple in order. Secure with clips, screws, and nuts as specified in the installation details.

  6. Make box entries

Cut out the necessary openings in the enclosure for box entries as shown in the details. Position the box connector and gaskets accordingly, ensuring a proper seal.

  7. Assemble hangers

Assemble the hangers as shown in the details, ensuring they are securely attached to the wireway flanges.
