How to Install the DAHHL801AC Heater
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the DAHHL801AC heater for optimal performance in hazardous locations.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cable gland or ½ NPT conduit
- Mount the heater
Secure the DAHHL801AC heater block directly to a flat conductive surface using at least one bolt through the middle hole. Ensure it is level and firmly attached.
- Connect the wiring
Install the connection cable into the customer-supplied Ex junction box, ensuring to observe the permissible bending radius of 5 times the outside cable diameter. Use a cable gland or ½ NPT conduit as required.
- Ground the heater
Connect the ground terminal of the heater to ensure potential equalization. Verify that the connection is secure and compliant with local electrical codes.
- Power on the heater
Once all connections are secure, turn on the power supply to the heater. Monitor the startup current, which may be 3 to 5 times greater than the nominal current for the first few seconds.
- Verify operation
Use a multimeter to check the voltage at the heater terminals to ensure it is within the rated voltage range. Confirm that the heater is functioning correctly and heating as expected.
