Supplies needed:
Cage nuts, Mounting screws, Ground wire, Strain relief bars
- Mount the UDF on the rails
Install the UDF on the 19” rails using the supplied cage nuts and screws. Leave two rack units above the mounting bracket for cable management.
- Remove terminal blocks
Remove wires from the terminal blocks and then remove the terminal blocks themselves. Ensure power is not applied during this process.
- Install switches
Install the switches in the recommended positions as indicated in the installation guide. Connect the supplied ground wire to each switch according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Wire incoming power
Wire the incoming power to the UDF tier following the switch manufacturer's instructions and the supplied Field Wiring Diagram. Ensure circuit breakers are in the OFF position while wiring.
- Install strain relief bars
Install strain relief bars as needed to support the weight of the cables running to the patch panel. Use the deeper strain relief bar behind the patch panel.
- Install fiber spool
