Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Cage nuts, Ground wire, Terminal connectors
- Mount the tier
Install the tier on the 19” rails using the supplied cage nuts and screws. Leave two rack units above the mounting bracket for cable management and the patch panel.
- Remove terminal blocks
Remove wires from the terminal blocks and then remove the terminal blocks themselves. Ensure that power is not applied during this process.
- Install switches
Install the switches in the recommended positions on the tier. Connect the supplied ground wire to each switch according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Wire power to the tier
Wire the incoming power to the tier following the switch manufacturer's instructions and the supplied Field Wiring Diagram. Ensure circuit breakers are in the OFF position while wiring.
- Install strain relief bars
Install strain relief bars as needed to support the weight of the cables running to the patch panel. Use the deeper strain relief bar behind the patch panel.
- Install fiber spool
If applicable, install a fiber spool against the side of the enclosure to manage fiber patch cord slack.
