How to Install the UVP048 External Battery Pack
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the UVP048 External Battery Pack, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Cage nuts, Terminal connectors
- Mount the EBP unit
Install the URMKIT2 rail kit by attaching the front side of the rail kit with 3x Phillips Pan Head M5 screws on each rail. Do not tighten the screws yet.
- Secure the rail kit
Adjust the rail size according to the depth of the rack, then install the rear side of the rail kit with 3x Phillips Pan Head M5 screws on each rail. Tighten all 12 screws to secure the rail kit to the rack.
- Install cage nuts
Install 4x M5 cage nuts in the rack front equipment rail, with square holes. Place one in each of the first locations below the bottom rail kit screw and one in each of the first locations above the top rail kit screw.
- Connect internal battery cartridges
Remove the faceplate by pressing both sides until the latches release. Connect the internal battery cartridge connector firmly to ensure a proper connection.
- Reinstall the faceplate
Reinstall the faceplate by aligning it properly and snapping it back onto the front of the EBP unit until you hear a positive snap of the latches.
- Verify connections
Use a multimeter to verify that all connections are secure and that there are no hazardous voltages present before powering on the unit.
